PDFly: Fast, Simple & Powerful PDF Editor

Official Privacy Policy
Developer: Suraj Sahani (martialcoder) Effective Date: October 26, 2026 Package: com.martial.pdfly 100% Offline & Local Zero Data Stored Remotely

1. Introduction & Overview

Welcome to PDFly, an on-device Android application designed to provide fast, simple, and powerful PDF viewing, editing, annotation, and document management capabilities, developed by Suraj Sahani ("Developer", "we", "our", or "us").

We respect your fundamental right to privacy. We believe that your personal and business documents belong solely to you. This Privacy Policy details our principles regarding document handling, device storage access, and user privacy when you download and use PDFly.

Core Privacy Commitment: PDFly operates 100% locally on your device. We do NOT collect, store, transmit, upload, or sell your documents, text entries, signature drawings, images, or personal metadata to any remote server or third party. Your files never leave your phone.

2. Document Processing & Local Storage

PDFly processes all PDF operations directly on-device using native Android framework capabilities:

📄 On-Device PDF Rendering & Canvas Engine

When you open a PDF in PDFly, document pages are rendered into local memory via Android's native PdfRenderer. Pinch-to-zoom (up to 5x), panning, double-tap zoom, and on-screen zoom controls calculate coordinates purely in volatile memory. No document bitmaps or rendered pages are sent to external services.

✍️ Text Editing, Freehand Drawing & Annotations

All text modifications, pen strokes, highlights, and annotations are saved directly into the newly generated PDF file on your device using Android's native PdfDocument APIs. None of this data is logged, tracked, or cached off-device.

🗂️ Page Management & Details Editing

Features such as page rotation (90°, 180°, 270°), page reordering, page duplication, page deletion, and metadata updates (title, author, subject, keywords) execute entirely within the local process sandbox.

3. Android System Permissions & Scoped Storage

PDFly follows Google's strictest Android Storage & Permission guidelines to ensure minimal, privacy-preserving access:

📁 Android Storage Access Framework (SAF)

PDFly uses the system document picker (Intent.ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT and Intent.ACTION_CREATE_DOCUMENT). You choose exactly which file to open and where to save exported PDFs. PDFly never requests broad storage access (such as MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) and cannot see or scan files on your device that you haven't explicitly selected.

🖼️ Image & Signature Import (Optional)

If you choose to stamp an image or insert a signature onto a PDF, the photo is read temporarily into memory solely for placement on the active document canvas and is not transmitted anywhere.

4. Zero Telemetry, Analytics, and Tracking

To guarantee complete confidentiality and speed:

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

PDFly is a general utility document editor suitable for users of all ages, including students, educators, and professionals. Because our app does not collect, retain, or transmit any personally identifiable information from any user, it fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

6. Data Security & Retention

Because all documents and user settings reside exclusively within your device's private app sandbox or designated file directories, your data is protected by the Android operating system's sandbox isolation and encryption. If you uninstall PDFly or use "Clear Data" in your device settings, any app-cached temporary files are immediately removed.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect any upcoming features or changes in regulatory standards. Any updates will be published on this page with an updated Effective Date.
